ACAS Principles and Values
- ACAS is accountable and accessible to the community it serves
- ACAS aims to provide culturally and linguistically appropriate
services to its target communities
- ACAS respects the autonomy of the affected communities to determine
appropriate and sensitive services for themselves
- ACAS aims to provide services in a non-judgmental manner respectful
of the clients’ needs and personal choices
- ACAS recognizes and opposes all forms of discriminations, specifically
discrimination against gays and lesbians, women, racial minorities,
people with HIV/AIDS and people with disabilities. Specifically,
ACAS strives to provide a positive and supportive environment
for people living with HIV/AIDS and for Asian lesbians and gays
- ACAS encourages self-empowerment of the affected communities
to make healthy life choices
ACAS will work to promote grassroots participation in its various
levels of functioning, specifically the participation of people
affected and infected by HIV/AIDS
