Community AIDS Services (ACAS) greatly values your consideration
on becoming a volunteer. Your reasons for volunteering can
fit a diverse spectrum from wanting to help in a cause that you
believe in, applying your skill in a new setting, to finding challenges
in a new experience among friends or a new community group.
ACAS believes that volunteering is a very rewarding and worthwhile
experience.
Unlike other volunteer service organizations, ACAS is a unique
service organization to volunteer in. ACAS is an HIV/AIDS
service organization that specifically provides service to the East
and Southeast Asian communities. Our services and programs
are diverse and encompass a wide variety of work that touches on:
- education and youth development
- health and wellness
- social services
- societal and public benefit
- human rights advocacy
ACAS depends on the help of many volunteers to plan and deliver
our services. You can help achieve our goals by:
- serving as a service and support provider
- enhancing our organization to perform our work by providing
your personalized help in terms of personal care and counseling
to our clients
- assisting in a range of administrative tasks such as office
work, training, or fundraising
- acting as a link to the communities we serve through your involvement
and voice
- attracting other volunteers and friends to help us grow
- or simply, donating your time, energy, or money to help in
any capacity you can to enhance the well-being of people living
with or affected by HIV/AIDS
To volunteer, review the section on Steps
To Volunteering, drop by our office to meet our staff, or simply
fill out a volunteer application form either online or in person
at our office.
Also, please feel free to read the ACAS Volunteer
Policies and Procedures (pdf file, 109k).
