PHA Voices
August 28, 2005
by TONY MARHONG
As a returning PHA to the ACAS Retreat that was
held on August 26th to 28th at the Kempenfelt Centre in Barrie,
I felt that I should write about my experience during the retreat.
The past couple of years have not been good for me with my losses,
and especially the recent lost of my pet (Kevy) of nineteen (19)
years.
This time away at the retreat has given me the opportunity to reflect
and relax from the stresses of the day. I felt a sense of peace
and serenity during my stay.
The staffs at Kempenfelt Centre were exceptionally great and very
friendly and were able to provide answers to all my questions.
I thoroughly enjoyed the workshops, especially the creation of the
grass head. I found this to be very therapeutic, also the parties
and the bon fire near to the lake.
I was most pleased to meet the old and new PHA's. Our conversations
were very informative and helpful, and gave me a sense of hope.
I would like to "thank" ACAS and the Support Staff for
putting on such a spectacular retreat, and I do hope God willing
that I would be able to attend future retreats. I'm truly blessed
to have such a bunch of brave and dedicated people to connect with.
