ACAS Board Chair receives City of Toronto's Pride Award

ACAS is proud to announce that Andre Goh, our current Board Chair, will be
awarded the  Pride Award by the City of Toronto's Access and Equity and
Human Rights Awards Committee on August 26, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. at the City
Council's meeting.

This award honours individuals and/or organizations that have made or are
making a significant or ongoing contribution to the well-being and
advancement of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual and two
spirited community in Toronto.

Andre has worked for the LGBTTTQ Asian community in Toronto for over 20
years, beginning with Gay Asian Toronto, one of the founding groups of ACAS.
Through his work, he was able to help create many queer Asian voices within
the LGBTTTQ community in Toronto.

As the manager of Diversty Management Unit of the Toronto Police Service, he
has worked hard to ensure that the voices of LGBTTTQ police officers are
included in decisions that impact their lives and responsibilities.

We'd like to take this opportunity to extend our congratlations to him and
to other Asian LGBTTTQ who have been at the forefront and/or behind the
scenes advocating for the rights of Asian LGBTTTQ in the City of Toronto.
