Temple Street Cabaretwas organized by the Asian Community AIDS Services, in collaboration with the Little Pear Garden Collective. It was created as one of the Cultural Program events at the International AIDS Conference 2006 in Toronto. The Cabaret ensemble consists of professional artists and community members of the Asian communities. Some are also cultural workers, AIDS activists, educators, outreach workers and volunteers. Some are lesbians, gays, transgendered, people living with HIV and AIDS, and their friends and families. The performers were involved in the creative process since the beginning.
