Nitto would be so happy to hear that persons smile when remembering his Halloween 2006 appearance as Bender from Futurama. Photos from all aspects of Nitto's life will be shown at the June 21 memorial, and will also appear afterwards at this link http://www.unbeldi.com/nitto/

I will always remember Nitto as being one of ACAS's most inspiring heroes. From his strength and intelligence to his unwavering commitment to ethics and youth leadership, he has left a strong mark on our community. My favourite memory of Nitto (aside the privilege of getting to work with him on the ACAS Board) was when I ran into him on Church St. a couple of years ago on Halloween: he was dressed up as the robot from Futurama. His costume was the most meticulously designed and professional-looking thing I had ever seen! Not to mention it was buckets of fun. This is how I will remember Nitto. full of laughter, community-minded and always having the time of his life! Rest In Peace, Nitto. And thank you for everything.

Nitto has always been a dear friend to so many. The things that many will remember about Nitto were his wit, his humour, his sense of style, and above all, his ability to include everyone in any situation. Nitto will be missed by so many in our community, the Filipino community, and especially by those who drew up with Nitto .

I was saddened to hear of Nitto's passing. Even though most of our interactions were through ACAS functions, I always admired Nitto from afar for his courage and activism. When I first came out, I looked to him as a person to admire as he was one of the few gay Filipinos that was visible who made real differences in the community! He is a pioneer! RIP Nitto.

I remember Nitto from the late seventies when he was one of the few out Asians in the gay Toronto scene. More importantly, he was one of the few Asians around gay activism. So it was natural that we would come together to form Gay Asians Toronto, now almost 30 years ago. Nitto was gentle and kind, but he was also strong, courageous and "out there"--he was a Sister of Perpetual Indulgence, after all. Central to many initiatives in our communities, Nitto was a true gay Filipino/Asian Canadian pioneer.
